Verify FTP Connection
Most ChurchServe accounts come with FTP access. This is the standard method of transferring files on the Internet. Windows comes with a simple command-line program aptly named ftp to provide simple access to servers via FTP. By using the ftp command in Windows, users can verify that the username, password, and FTP server are working. After ensuring the FTP account is working properly, you are free to use whatever FTP client you wish for actually managing your account.Tutorial (1 minute, 19 seconds):
- Flash-based Video Tutorial: Provides an easy to view format provided access to the Flash player.
- Windows Media Video Tutorial: Windows Media Player is available on most PCs. Note: Recommended for broadband users only.
For this tutorial, we will use SmartFTP 1.0. The settings for the Free Website are that of a demo account used for tutorial demonstration and is not available for general use. Domain or other account settings are general examples and not real settings or domain names.
