Step 1: Open SmartFTP

When you first open SmartFTP, you will probably see another window asking for general preferences before starting up. As a general rule, you probably don't need to change the initial settings, so accept their defaults. Once you get past that first screen, you will not see it again -- but you should be able to change the preferences and settings later if you desire.

Once SmartFTP, you should see a screen like the image above.
