Step 5: Publish Tab

If you had to fill in the field of the Setting tab, just click on the Publish tab to make the Publish tab the current tab. Otherwise, the Publish tab should be displayed by default when opening the Publish dialog box.

View of the Publish tab

This view of the Publish tab will show the fields needed before publishing can be completed. See below for explaination of fields and the example configuration.

The graphic above shows all the fields filled out for a test account setup for this tutorial.

Publish Tab Fields

Field Description
Site Name This is the name of the Publishing Site you will use to publish your page to. If you just filled in the fields in the Settings tab, it will automatically set the Site Name to that Site once you make it to the Publish tab. You can use the New Site button to create a New Site if the site you want to publish to has not been setup yet.
Page Title This is the title of the web page you are publishing. This field is automatically filled in from the HTML <TITLE> tag in the web page if one exists.
Filename The actual name of the file for your web page. All pages must have a file name associated with it. If your file has been saved on your computer (local system), then the default will be whatever you named your file at that time. Most web pages use the ".html" or ".htm" file extension to represent they are HTML (web pages) files. If you use any other extension, the web page may not display properly.
Site subdirectory This is the directory (or web folder) on your website that this page will be published to. For Free and Almost Free Websites, this is an optional field. For paid hosting services on ChurchServe, please specify the "/website" subdirectory. The normal paid hosting accounts have a slightly different directory setup that requires any website content to start in the /website directory -- if you leave this field blank, your pages may not show up.
Include images and other files Usually, leave this box checked -- it will ensure that all related files like images, flash files, etc. are uploaded at the same time your page is published. If you uncheck this box and your web page contains other files/images associated with it, your page may not display correctly. This box also includes this option of using the existing directory/subdirectory or to use another directory for these related files -- this will greatly be determined on how you setup and linked the related files/images to your web page.

Review your Settings

Please take a moment to review your settings before continuing. Once you are happy with your settings, you may proceed to the next step.
