Step 2: New Site Settings
After the initial splash screen is displayed, CoreFTP automatically pops up the Site Manager dialog. If you have never used CoreFTP before, your Site Manager dialog will be empty and ready for a new FTP connection profile. In our example, we will proceed with filling in the information required to access our test account on ChurchServe.
The Site Name field represents the label for this profile. This makes it easy to remember this particular profile next time we want to upload to this account. The Host or IP field takes the host name or location of your FTP server address. This is specific for your hosting account.
The Username field is where you type your account username. Some companies refer to this as your login ID. In most cases, this username or login id will be case sensitive, so make sure you enter it exactly as it was given to you. The Password field is where you type the password associated with your hosting account username or login ID. In almost all cases, the password is case sensitive and requires it to match exactly as provided by your web host. The Don't Save Password checkbox is optional, but recommended for users on publicly accessible computers, work computer, or on computers that have more than one person using them. This checkbox makes is so this provide always prompts you for your password each time you attempt to login to your account. For home users, leaving this unchecked is fine and saves from having to type the password in each time you connect. If you feel inclined to associate a comment about this profile, you can use the Comments field for that, everything else is not needed for ChurchServe website accounts. When you are finished providing your account details, click the Connect button to begin the FTP login process. During the login process, the Site Manager dialog will disappear. If there was a problem with the login, you will see a notice explaining the error and usually the ability to correct the issue. For now, we will assume everything logged in just fine.
